Every time how I played against Maria it was a tough match. Maria’s service is the fine, she’s a great player.

In today's match Vera and Nathalie lost to Chinese players Shengnan Sun and Tiantian Sun in two sets 3:6 3:6. The match in the mixed doubles between Vera/Andy and Chris Guccione/Casey Dellacqua was delayed (the raining problem). Now the score is 5:4 Vera and Andy leads in the first set.
In the third round Vera will play against Ana Ivanovic.

Today was played the very tough match between Vera Zvonareva and Jelena Jankovic. In the first set Jelena has won two games, but Vera breaked 4:2. The finish of the set was tie-break, where Jankovic bited Vera 11:9.

In the final set Jankovic could won some important points and she has won the title.
"I always had to play aggressively and I always had to play my game. As soon as I gave her a couple of unforced errors, then she was on top of me. I had to take my chances especially when I was 4-1 and 5-3 down in the second set. "I am certainly improving, especially from my first match where in the first set I was struggling a little bit and I couldn't find my rhythm.
Certainly I wasn't playing my best tennis throughout the whole match today but I was coming up with good shots and good points when I needed it."

Vera Zvonareva: You know, you always come for the tournament and you always have the desire to win, you know. Everyone, you ask every player, every player come into the tournament to win.
But I think it's more important just not to expect anything. You just go on court and do your thing, you know. Just to concentrate on every point and go, you know, match by match, like Nathalie said. I think that's what we're doing good, you know. No matter who is on the other side of the net, and no matter how we play this day, we just try to fight for every point.
